Use JobZero from your AI assistant

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. Connect JobZero once, then check job links, score your fit, and tailor your resume from a chat in Muse, Instinct, Claude Code, Cursor, or any other MCP client.

1. Create your API token

You need a free JobZero account. Sign in, open Agents, and generate a token. The token only works with the JobZero MCP server, and you can revoke it any time.

2. Connect your assistant

Muse and Instinct

Paste this into a chat. When it asks for your token, enter it in the secure credentials prompt, never in the chat.

Connect to the JobZero MCP server at https://api.jobzero.app/api/mcp. It needs my JobZero API token as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Ask for the token through your secure credentials prompt, not in this chat. Then read https://www.jobzero.app/skill.md for how to use it.

3. Ask your assistant

Start with “What can I do with JobZero?”, or try:

  • “Is this job still open? <job link>”: Checks the posting is live and adds it to your feed
  • “Score my fit for <job link>”: FitScore™ and FitInsight™ against your profile
  • “Show my best matches at Stripe from this week”: Searches the jobs JobZero already tracks for you
  • “Tailor my resume for my top match”: Drafts changes you review before anything is saved
  • “Approve it and give me the PDF”: Compiles the approved resume and the apply link
  • “Get my answers for this application form”: Pre-filled answers for the job’s form questions

Good to know

Your assistant shows you resume changes and waits for your OK before approving them. Scores and tailored resumes count toward your JobZero plan, just like in the app.
